Question:I am now 30 and have a daughter that is 4. I teach her about the Bible and to have Christian morals. But there is one thing in the way. I can't seem to find a church that we fit into and that I am comfortable with. I have been to a lot of different churches in my life. If you have any comments, I would appreciate them!
Thank you for your questions. It sounds like God is working in your life. How exciting and additionally wonderful that you are sharing your faith with your daughter. You are right to find a church and to surround yourself with other Christians who are also pursuing God and a personal relationship with him. As you seek a church, pray that God will direct you to one that:
1) honors and worships God
2) preaches only from the Bible
3) teaches the entire Bible
4) loves all people and has a heart for people who don't yet believe in Jesus
5) loves and believes in the children and youth
6) protects their children and youth
7) allows you to find your area of spiritual giftedness and then serve in that area.
I encourage you to ask your friends whom you know are faithful believers about their churches. Visit with the people of the church. Interview the pastor. Then, once you find a church, make a commitment to be a part of the community of faith. Realize that no church is perfect and none will ever be but that it is the best representation of Christ that we have here on earth. Being a part of a solid, Bible believing church is one of the best gifts we give ourselves and also our children. Pray, look, then choose the place you want to invest your life in. Enjoy the journey.
