How long did it take Noah to build the ark?

Question:

How long did it take Noah to build the ark, and where can I find it in the Bible?

Answer:

You can find information about Noah in the Old Testament book of Genesis, 5:28 through 9:28.

The Scriptures don't specify the exact amount of time it took to build the ark. What we know is that Noah was 500 years old when his sons were born (Gen. 5:28) and that he was 600 years old when the flood came (Gen. 7:6). At the time the flood came, Noah's sons were old enough to have wives (Gen. 7:7).
