Question:I recently started to go to church, and I became a Christian. I go to church with my boyfriend. I want to invite my mom, dad, and brother to come, but I don't know how to ask them. They mock me for going. How should I go about asking them to come?
I am so blessed to know that you are taking a stand for the Lord. It is exciting to see a young person who is willing to risk their lives and heart for the Kingdom. As far as asking your parents...just ask! In addition, don't take their "no" as anything that is a blast against you. Their "no" is their spiritual issue. We are called by God to plant the seeds and be invitational. If the Lord lays anything else on your heart in regards to your parents, He'll lead you. Until that time, just ask them. If they give you a hard time, just understand that they don't understand what is going on in your life. It is a mystery to them. I remember being mocked by my parents. Tell them you love them. Let them know that this new life in the Lord is important to you. Ask them for their support. Remember, you have a "great cloud of witnesses" (Hebrews 12:1) cheering you on!
